Understanding Kids and Food;

Nutrition Needs; Quick Tips

This week I discuss the different reasons children are choosy and what is actually normal, as well as what your job is and what their job is. I begin sharing strategies that you can implement today for kids of any age, as well as how to meet their nutritional needs. I will do a few cooking demos in this class.

One Family, One Meal

No more being a short-order cook!  Those days are over and I will show you how to get there.  Dinner time is more than a time to connect, it is a HUGE opportunity to get your kids to eat like you. This class is full of tips to help you do just that with lots of cooking demos.

How to Adapt Your Cooking; Better Grocery Store Brands; and More

This class is about how to approach cooking from scratch and how to incorporate prepared food, convenience foods, and how to seek out higher quality processed food.  I demonstrate a lot of recipes this week!

Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks & Sugar

In a perfect world, we could teach our kids about nutrition and then they would just eat accordingly.  Unfortunately, that is just not reality for 99% of us.  So, we need another strategy.  I got you. I demonstrate blood sugar-balancing breakfasts, snacks and lunches as well as the reason many of you might be taking this course - how to get your kids to NOT obsess about sugar!!

About Me

I have loved good food and enjoyed cooking for as long as I can remember. As a child, while other kids were at the playground, I was helping my father in the garden, watering plants and vines and watching miracles happen. I come from a large Italian-American family where sit-down holiday dinners for 85 people are the norm (how, you might ask – organization!  But more on that later …).

The food I grew up with was never fancy, even though my mother always had a subscription to Gourmet.  But I knew where the food came from and it was always real. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I learned more about the nourishing and healing power of food.  And it wasn’t until I volunteered as a nutrition docent in an elementary school for Growing Great that it truly crystallized for me — our society has a big problem. I knew I had to do something, but was unsure of where to start.

I was asked to teach a “healthful cooking class” for a group of young mothers. The business grew organically from that first group and I knew I had a message — and a new mission — in life.
